“The Nets crowd is electric when Giannis Antetokounmpo hits the free throw line”: The Brooklyn crowd hilariously counts down the Bucks MVP’s agonizingly long free throw routine in Game 7
The Brooklyn Nets crowd goes ballistic when Giannis Antetokounmpo is at the free throw line, counting down every second he takes.
Giannis Antetokounmpo has showed up and showed out alongside his partner in crime, Khris Middleton, in this Bucks-Nets ECSF. With averages of 30 points and 12 rebounds, the 2x MVP is currently leading Milwaukee in a close Game 7 against Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets.
Despite the fact that Giannis is delivering once again, posting up 31 points on 11-19 shooting from the field, it is his agonizingly long free throw routine that has Nets fans worked up. It’s become of staple of Antetokounmpo’s game to drive hard to the rim by leaning towards his right and stretching out his right arm all the way to the rim. This usually results in a trip to the charity stripe.
Ever since the Playoffs started, when on the road, opposing team’s fans have been counting down Giannis Antetokounmpo’s free throw routine from start to finish. Even before touching the ball, he fakes 3 shots, gets the ball, pounds the ball 6 times, and then slowly raises for a shot. This entire ‘procedure’ takes about 13 seconds in real time.
The Nets crowd counts down Giannis Antetokounmpo shooting free throws.
Giannis Antetokounmpo averages 7.7 free throw attempts in the 6 games he’s played in this series. However, he makes an abysmal 45.7% of them as he averages a measly 3.5 makes on those attempts. This percentage brings about the question, “Why does Giannis do all that just to shoot less than 50% from the free throw line?”

Brooklyn Nets fans certainly don’t agree with the ‘Greek Freak’s’ tactics as they went absolutely ballistic every time he approached the free throw line. The chants of Nets fans counting down the charity stripe routine were quite nearly more deafening than when KD dropped 49 points in Game 5.
It’s clear that Giannis Antetokounmpo and his antics while shooting free throws aren’t working, given his horrid percentage. Given his involvement in the 4th quarter, he must avoid himself from becoming a victim of Hack-a-Shaq tactics.
