"They Might Get 1 Or 2 Games": Teaming Up With LeBron James, Shaquille O'Neal Shows Unreal Confidence In Beating Michael Jordan's Starting 5

Shaquille O’Neal is a huge fan of playing “what if” games on social media. Time and again, the Los Angeles Lakers legend has posted hypothetical matchups between All-Time greats from different eras. As you would’ve probably guessed, Shaq always has his side as the favorites to emerge as victors. It was no different this time as well. Being retired for more than a decade now, the four-time NBA Champion is still as competitive as always. Despite the opposing lineup featuring the likes of Michael Jordan, Kevin Durant and Steph Curry, the Big Aristotle backed his five to win a seven-game series.

According to the matchup on Shaq’s latest Instagram post, he’s teaming up with LeBron James. For those who don’t remember, the league did witness a Shaq-Bron duo for a single season. During the 2009-2010 campaign, the out-of-shape big man was on the Cleveland Cavaliers roster led by Bron. The Ohio side would eventually be eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the playoffs after finishing the regular season with the league’s best record.

Meanwhile, the “Superman” had recently warned social media on how lethal a Jordan-Shaq duo would be in another hypothetical scenario. This time around, the NBA Hall-Of-Famer used his platform to predict a win for his starting five against Michael Jordan and co. in a seven-game series.

Shaquille O’Neal believes his side would defeat Michael Jordan’s squad in a series

The Diesel took to Instagram to post a photo of a hypothetical matchup between two all-time starting fives. On one side, Shaq was teamed up with the likes of LeBron, Kobe Bryant, Tim Duncan, and Allen Iverson. They would go up against Jordan, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Stephen Curry, Kevin Durant, and Giannis Antetokounmpo.

A pretty tough matchup, to be honest. Either of the two sides could end up winning. However, we can be quite sure that a series between the two stacked teams would at least go to a Game 7. Well, Shaq doesn’t believe so.

According to the TNT analyst, his side will be the one to come out on top and fairly easily at that. In fact, Shaq only gave the opposition grace points to compete, “they migh get one or two games what u think?”

Irrespective of what the 51-year-old icon seems to believe, it is tough to gauge the winner of this clash. However, we are certain that the contest would be a pretty entertaining one.

Shaq revealed his four favorite teammates

Shaq has spent 19 glorious years in the NBA. Across a near-two-decade-long career, O’Neal has shared the locker room with some of the biggest names in league history. However, he named his top four teammates during an appearance on the DangerTalk Podcast back in 2020. The Big Aristotle included Penny Hardaway, Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, and Robert Horry on the list. Have a look at the tweet by SportsCenter.

LeBron James, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett are a few notable snubs from Shaq’s “Mount Rushmore of former teammates”. However, it does make a lot of sense why he didn’t include these players on the prestigious list. No disrespect to any of these all-time legends, but Shaq didn’t share the hardwood with them long enough.
