The Golden State Warriors came off with a huge win today. Taking on the Sacramento Kings for Game 4, the Warriors had their roster back, with Draymond Green and GP2 back. Stephen Curry took charge of the game, as the Warriors survived a 126-125 nail-biter.

With this win, the Warriors now have tied the series at two apiece. Essentially it’s a best-of-three now, with Sacramento hosting two of the three games. Steph played 43 big minutes tonight, getting 32 points, five rebounds, four assists, and a steal. While Steph put the Warriors in a position to win, he almost cost them the game with a very costly play.
With around 42 seconds left, the Warriors rebounded the ball. Looney passed it to Curry, who got trapped. Curry called a timeout when the team had none left.

After the game, Steph addressed the same.
Stephen Curry talked about his ‘smart’ play; Steve Kerr took blame
With nearly two minutes left in the game, Steve Kerr and the Warriors took a chance and challenged a low-percentage call. Things did not work out in their favor, and they ended up losing the challenge. However, more than the challenge, they ended up losing their final timeout.
Unaware of the same, Steph called a timeout when he was trapped with 42 seconds left on the clock. This cost a technical turnover, with the Warriors up 126-121 with 42 seconds left. Malik Monk hit the technical FT. Harrison Barnes missed a three on the possession, but an offensive rebound got to Fox, who knocked down a three to make the score 126-125.
After the game, Steph talked about it and said,
“I ain’t gonna lie, I thought it was the smartest play in the world… I looked over at the bench, and everybody was shaking their head.”

Steve Kerr discussed the same as well, taking the blame for the mistake.
Steve Kerr took responsibility for Steph Curry calling a late timeout the Warriors didn’t have:
“That’s 100 percent on me.”

While the Warriors got lucky tonight, Steph would be happy that he didn’t pull a Chris Webber.
What did Chris Webber do?
At the start of the 1990s, the Michigan Wolverines had a 5-man lineup known as the Fab 5. They were an incredible team who were on the verge of an NCAA Championship in 1993. With 11 seconds left in the game, the Wolverines were down two points against North Carolina.
Chris Webber called a timeout when the team had none left. This cost a technical turnover, and the Tar Heels took the win 77-71. This was the second consecutive NCAA Championship Game loss for the Wolverines, with Webber costing them the game this time.
Steph nearly pulled a Webber tonight. He’d be glad the Warriors survived this one though.
