Unlike LeBron James' 'NBA Wish' For Bronny And Bryce, Stephen Curry Reveals He Won't Force His 3 Kids Into Basketball: "The 5 Y/o, We'll See What He Wants To Be"

When it comes to the children of famous NBA players, we usually see them following the same path as their parents. Stephen Curry followed the footsteps of his father, Dell Curry, and so are LeBron James’ sons, Bronny and Bryce, looking up to do. However, in a recent interview, Chef Curry revealed that he wouldn’t be putting pressure on his kids to take up basketball like him.

Steph has two daughters, Ryan and Riley, and a son Canon with his wife, Ayesha Curry. Steph believes his children can choose any path, whether basketball or anything else. Whatever path his children choose, Curry assured that he would provide his unwavering support to them.

On the contrary, LeBron James has been saying for years how he wants to play alongside his sons in the league for years. He is determined to retire only after playing at least one season with his eldest son, Bronny James. Likewise, his sons, Bronny and Bryce, follow his footsteps and follow the right path to live up to their father’s legacy.

Stephen Curry wants his children to carve their path in whatever career they may choose

During an interview on the Live Kelly and Mark Show, Stephen Curry became candid with the hosts about his children and their career plans. His oldest child, Riley, is following in the footsteps of her grandmother Sonya Curry and is already training to play volleyball. His other daughter Ryan is a dancer and is already an artist in the Curry household.

“Well my oldest, I have two girls- 11 and 8, and a younger son who’s 5. My oldest is a volleyball player. She’s taken after her grandma and some of the women in my life who play volleyball. Middle daughter, the dancer, she’s kind of the artist of the family. So I’m over two on that one already!”

Steph’s youngest son, Canon, is athletic and seems like a bright prospect for sports. However, Steph assured of his unwavering support in whichever field he chooses.

” And the five year old, we’ll see what he wants to be. He’s kind of the athlete but I don’t know. If basketball, golf, baseball, whatever it is. The biggest thing is whatever they decide to do like, this is full support and understanding.”

Another basketball legend, Shaquille O’Neal had also taken a similar approach raising his children. He allowed them to follow their dreams which have helped his children find heaps of success. For example, while most of his children pursued basketball, he let his eldest daughter Taahirah and son Myles go their way.

Taahirah graduated with a degree in Sociology and is now working for Pepsico as a community outreach specialist. On the other hand, his son Myles became a prominent model and is now pursuing a music-making career as a DJ.

Klay Thompson says Canon Curry is a better passer than his father

Stephen Curry’s teammate, Klay Thompson seems to have a special relationship with Stephen Curry’s son, Canon Curry. They often team up together to troll Stephen Curry on various occasions. In one instance, Klay mentioned how Canon is a much better passer than his father, Steph Curry. This is like discrediting Steph Curry, known for being one of the most visionary passers in the NBA.

If Klay’s statement is true, perhaps Canon might even become a greater prospect than his father. But for that, we might know in a few years if Canon can indeed be the better passer than his father in the league.
