“You probably won’t see me with braids anytime soon”: Steph Curry drops dreadlocks, scores 36 points in the Warriors' first win of the season

Steph Curry jokes about not having braids on and drops 36 points in the Golden State Warriors’ first win of the season.

The Golden State Warriors faced off against the Chicago Bulls last night, and were finally able to notch in their first win of the 2020-21 NBA season. The Warriors bested the Bulls 129-128 in a nail-biting finish.

Steph Curry’s brother-in-law Damion Lee came through in the clutch as he drained a 3 from the top of the key to put the Warriors up by 1, for good.

Steph had himself a night, dropping his first 30-piece of the season. He finished the game with 36 points, going 11-25 from the field.

Steph Curry says he won’t be braiding his hair anytime soon

Over the offseason, Steph Curry decided to switch things up in the hair department. He started to grow it out and debuted his new braided hair during the preseason.

However, each game Curry has played with braids on, did not end well for the Dubs. In tonight’s bout against the Bulls, Curry ditched his braids and rocked a mini-afro.

This seems to have been the difference maker as both the Warriors won, and Curry had his first good game of the season. In his post game interview, Steph was asked, “I guess it’s safe to say we’re not gonna see the braids anytime soon?”

Steph jokingly responds, “Probably not.”

The Warriors’ main concern is the talent that surrounds him. Neither Andrew Wiggins nor Kelly Oubre look like they could be the reliable second option Curry needs by his side. Oubre has been exceptionally terrible, as he went 3-16 from the field last night, after going 1-10 against the Bucks on Christmas.

On paper, they have the assets to at least make the play-in tournament. However, in Klay Thompson’s absence, the Warriors need another player to step up to be the Robin to Steph’s Batman.
