"What if Khris Middleton wins Finals MVP?": Nets guard's latest tweet earns him the ire of Giannis fans ahead of Bucks vs Suns Game 6

Spencer Dinwiddie’s latest tweet on Khris Middleton winning FMVP over Giannis Antentokounmpo doesn’t sit well with the Greek Freak’s fanbase.

Earlier this season, the Nets guard suffered a partially torn ACL, which kept him out for the entire season. Dinwiddie was clearly missed in the 2021 NBA Playoffs, as the Nets couldn’t get past the Milwaukee Bucks in the semi-finals.

The Nets point guard impressed everyone with his performance in the 2019-20 NBA season. The Brooklyn Nets were in the playoffs despite Kevin Durant not playing the entire season.

In the coming off-season recently, Dinwiddie, who is a free agent, revealed: “that a five-year deal in the $125 million range would likely keep him in Brooklyn.”

There is no doubt that Dinwiddie is one of the most talented point guards in the NBA. The Nets point guard had been making impressive progress during his rehab and would probably have returned if Kevin Durant and co would have been able to get past the Bucks in the semi-finals.

However, the Nets guard has been the eye of the storm lately due to his tweet on Giannis in the current 2021 NBA Finals.

“What if Khris Middleton wins Finals MVP?”: Nets guard’s latest tweet earns him the ire of Giannis fans

Giannis’ elder brother Thanasis Antetokounmpo had recently entered the health and safety protocols of the league, due to which he had to miss Game Five of the NBA Finals.

Dinwiddie, who has currently been in the news for his free agency, was quick enough to tweet a cryptic message in response to Thanasis’ situation. The tweet earned him the wrath of some NBA fans, who considered his tweet disrespectful.

In the above tweet, Dinwiddie talks about a scenario if Giannis would have to miss Game Six due to his brother and teammate Thanasis entering the COVID 19 health and safety protocols.

The Nets guard further added if this above situation comes to light, resulting in Khris Middleton being crowned Finals MVP.

However, this tweet didn’t go as accepted, as many of the Greek Freak’s fans took this as a shot on their superstar and responded with the following messages.

With the sudden outburst post his tweet Dinwiddie was quick to clarify that his tweet was a Marvel-inspired “What if” and that his tweet should not be taken so seriously.

The Greek Freak has been playing his best basketball during the current NBA Finals, averaging 32.2 PPG, 13.0 RPG, and 5.6 APG on an impressive 61.2% shooting from the field.

The former DPOY joined the likes of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and LeBron James recently for being just the third player in history with at least 150 points, 50 rebounds, and  25 assists in the first five games of an NBA Finals.
