“What?!’- Patrick Beverley angered by Montrezl Harrell leaving the Clippers to team up with LeBron James and Lakers

Patrick Beverley doesn’t seem too happy with Montrezl Harrell signing with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Free agency for the 2020 offseason officially began on November 20th. With less than 24 hours of free agency, multiple big name stars like Montrezl Harrell have been on the move.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a team who believed they were far from complete, even upon winning a championship. They made the move to part ways with Danny Green to acquire Dennis Schroder earlier this week.

Now, it is being reported that Dwight Howard has left the Lakers as a free agent, to make his way to Philadelphia. The Lakers are also using their bi-annual exception on signing 3 and D wing, Wesley Matthews , as a sort of ‘replacement’ for Danny Green.

Patrick Beverley is mad that Montrezl Harrell signed with the Lakers.

The NBA ‘s current Sixth Man of the Year award recipient has left the Los Angeles Clippers in free agency, to sign with the Los Angeles Lakers. The contract is a 2 year/$19 million deal.

The Lakers have used their non-taxpayer’s mid-level exception to sign Montrezl Harrell. This signing comes admist Dwight Howard leaving the Lakers to sign with the Philadelphia 76ers.

Patrick Beverley took to Instagram almost instantly to express his distaste for this signing by the Lakers.

Patrick Beverley was close with everyone on the Clippers team, especially with Montrezl and Lou Williams. It makes sense he would react this way.

Will Montrezl Harrell fit in well with the Los Angeles Lakers?

Harrell is essentially a replacement for losing Dwight Howard. He is a great rim running center who drives to the basket quite aggressively. He is also solid in the PnR with smaller guards, like Schroder.

Though he has a player option in his second season, this was a win for the Lakers. Signing the reigning Sixth Man of the Year to just $9 million a year is a steal by all means.
