“What the Hell are We Supposed to do?”: J R Smith details Cavaliers’ Reaction after Kevin Durant joined Warriors

In an interview with Michael Scotto of Hoopshype, he was asked about his sentiments on the Warriors acquiring Kevin Durant. And for J R, he had a whole lot of words for it:

“I think the whole league did. When that happened, everybody was pretty much playing for (a) second. Don’t get me wrong, in the heat of the battle, we’re thinking, we have a chance, and we can win, but at the same time, it’s like, “What the hell are we supposed to do?” You’ve got three Hall of Famers, legit. What are you going to do?”.

A player like Durant is generational. Perhaps the greatest offensive force of all time. Durant was and is sensational. His addition makes teams contenders, immediately.

The Warriors with a back-to-back MVP added Durant. That put the title beyond the reach of anyone. And it is a question that makes sense.

How would you defend against 3 all-NBA level players or better yet, 3 future Hall-of-Famers? The Warriors went to 3 finals after Kevin Durant’s arrival, winning 2 championships. Two of those championship wins came against LeBron James and J R Smith’s Cavaliers.

J R Smith is getting a docuseries of his own!

For a player with 2 championships and in a capacity of a role player, J R has managed to carve out a name for himself. He was the bad boy, now he is the good boy. He is now back in college and has aspirations to finish with a degree in the process.

Smith studies at North Carolina A&T State University, where he is averaging a 4.0 GPA and is part of the golf team. All of this spotlight has helped him get a docuseries of his own.

What do you think about J R Smith’s comments? Was Kevin Durant’s addition that much of a problem? How will the Suns fare this season?
