“Who cares?”: Damian Lillard’s nonchalant response to Skip Bayless berating him over his Playoff woes and clutch-time stats
Damian Lillard lets it be known that he doesn’t care about the fact that Skip Bayless was going after him, belittling his accomplishments.
Damian Lillard has proven time and time again that he cannot be counted up until the final buzzer of the game sounds off. Whether it’s clutch daggers from beyond the arc against the New Orleans Hornets back in 2012 or it’s step-back 3s at the buzzer to win it against the Chicago Bulls in 2021, the 6’2 point guard has been clutch for all 9 years that he’s been in this league.
He’s been on an especially impressive tear this season as he’s leading the NBA in clutch-time points with 82 and 3-point percentage at a whopping 59%.
With Damian Lillard’s name being plastered all over social media following his MVP-caliber performance night in and night out, Skip Bayless thought it would be the perfect time to berate him for his Playoff woes.
Skip Bayless goes off on Damian Lillard but Dame couldn’t care less.
Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless took to FS1’s Undisputed to debate the legitimacy of Damian Lillard’s ‘clutchness’. Shannon Sharpe wanted to proclaim Dame as the greatest clutch-time performer of this generation. Shaq agrees with him who says, “nobody is feared more in the NBA right now than Damian Lillard.”
Is Damian Lillard all-time clutch?
“Dame is the greatest clutch player of this generation. Michael Jordan and Dame are the only players to end 2 playoff series on game-winning shots. He’s clutch, I’ve seen enough. ” — @ShannonSharpe pic.twitter.com/hGSMFrW9ff

Skip Bayless however, doesn’t see it the way Sharpe sees it. “There have been way too many flameouts on the resume for me to say all-time clutch when it matters the most in the postseason.”
In response to Bayless’s comments, Damian Lillard took to Twitter to simply say, “Who cares”.

Bayless then proceeds to mention Lillard’s first-round exit against the Pelicans back in 2018. Him wilting against the Warriors in the 2019 WCF was also mentioned. These can be used against Dame but as Sharpe said, “He’s come through in the clutch more often than not.”
