Drake takes to his Instagram to show love to Scottie Barnes and Dalano Banton after having been drafted by the Toronto Raptors.
The Toronto Raptors hit NBA fans with a curveball on NBA Draft night as their 2021 fourth overall pick was used to snatch Scottie Barnes. Jalen Suggs was nearly every single big board’s 4th pick and with Kyle Lowry on his way out of Toronto, Suggs would’ve been a perfect replacement to the 2019 NBA champion.

However, the Raptors, who’ve had a decent track record in the Draft as of recent, seem to be all in on Scottie Barnes. Don’t get it twisted, Barnes is an incredible prospect. An athletic, strong defensive minded forward with extensive game IQ is a hard player to pass up on.
With guys like OG Anunoby, Gary Trent Jr, Chris Boucher, and now Barnes, the Raptors are fully locked into the youth movement. Drake is clearly all for it as well as the Raptors ‘global ambassador’ was seen with Scottie at the gym, working on his game.
Could Scottie Barnes find his way onto a Drake single?
Upon being drafted by the Toronto Raptors, Scottie Barnes was asked by Taylor Rooks on how it felt to be on ‘Drake’s’ team and if he had a message he wanted to send to him. “I like that! Ay man, I see you soon man.”
It’s safe to say that Barnes and Dalano Banton didn’t have to wait long to acquaint themselves with Drake as they were invited to his Toronto mansion for a quick workout. The bigger question remains to be: Will the ‘6 God’ shout out Scottie Barnes on a single any time soon?

Getting name dropped by Drake is quite a big deal given the fact that he shows love to only the best of the best. Guys like Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Devin Booker, amongst others, have had the honor of being name-dropped by the Canadian rapper.
Though Scottie Barnes has officially formed a connection with Drake and is a part of the Raptors’ long-term plans as far as we know, it’ll take more than being drafted to Toronto to earn a shout-out from the Grammy winning artist.
