LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers responded after a Game 2 loss at FedEx Forum by opening up a 30 point lead prior to halftime of Game 3. Last night’s game was the first time Lakers fans have been to a home Playoff game since 2013 (packed stadium that is) and the atmosphere was as electric as you’d expect.

The allure of the Lakers franchise coupled with the drama that has been building up due to Dillon Brooks and his antics was what led to quite an exciting Game 3. Brooks, prior to last night’s bout, claimed that while he accepts James to be a legend of the game, doesn’t respect anybody until they drop 40 points on him.
In his media availability to buildup towards Game 3, James claimed he was done answering questions about Brooks, saying, ‘No more bulls**t’. Well, he certainly did let his game do the talking as he dropped an efficient 25 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists.
Legitimacy of viral Dillon Brooks tweet on LeBron James
Dillon Brooks has said a lot about his opponents over the years. Him calling LeBron James old was certainly something that seemed to rile up the 4x Finals MVP to the point where the purple and gold were close to embarrassing the Grizzlies if not for Ja Morant’s historic 45 point performance.
Following the end of Game 3, a tweet from an account that supposedly belonging to Brooks went viral for doubling down on his comments regarding LeBron. In the tweet, the user continued to call him an old man and claimed he still has not dropped 40 on him.
Old man still couldn’t drop 40 on me. Respect is earned not given. Don’t flop next time 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

Is this tweet about LeBron James from Dillon Brooks?
While many believed this to be Dillon, it has very easily been proven that it is not him. The reason for this confusion has been due to the new Twitter update that removed every public figure’s blue check on the website.
If someone has not subscribed to Twitter Blue, they will not have the check. Due to this, there have been many accounts impersonating public figures and Brooks has fallen victim to this unfortunately.
After having gotten ejected from Game 3 for hitting LeBron James in the groin, he declined to have any comments following the game. LeBron himself said this was not a statement game directed towards Dillon as he’s too old to have those kinds of games given that he’s proven himself far too many times at this point.
