"Chiefaholic is probably a Travis Kelce Fan", 2 months before Kansas' Notorious Fan arrest, Jason and Travis Kelce were Joking About His Presence in Their Audience

In a surprising turn of events, the infamous Kansas City Chiefs superfan known as ChiefsAholic has finally been apprehended after months on the run. Xavier Babudar, whose alter ego was ChiefsAholic, was arrested earlier this year on bank robbery charges.

However, he evaded bail as he managed to remove his ankle monitor. ChiefsAholic was well-known for his enthusiastic and dedicated fandom, often seen donning a wolf costume at every Chiefs game.

Interestingly, ChiefsAholic was even mentioned in an episode of Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce’s podcast, ‘New Heights’ just before a day of his arrest on Friday. Kelce knew little at the time about the superfan’s whereabouts but was surely joking about it. As the arrest has been made now, social media has been buzzing with references to Kelce’s sarcastic remark during the podcast episode, where he exclaimed, “Shit just got real”.

The Kelce brothers, Travis and Jason, couldn’t contain their excitement as they discussed the upcoming Beer Bowl Trophy of 2023 on their ‘New Heights‘ podcast. Jason enthusiastically shared, “It’s time for the first round of the New Heights Beer Bowl 2023!” They meticulously selected 16 teams from a pool of over 200 contestants to compete for the ultimate drinking game championship.

The brothers were hyped up for the event, emphasizing the impressive trophy and the hefty prize of $50,000 in cash. Jason Kelce jokingly questioned whether their father ran off with the cash. He joked, “Did he run with the cash did he hit the highway”. When their dad came in on the stage, Jason wasn’t feeling secure with all the cash-waving. He jokingly said, “Where are the handcuffs, these isn’t secure”, to which Travis said, “You’re supposed to be wearing handcuffs”.

However, the podcast took an unexpected turn when the topic of the infamous Chiefs superfan ChiefsAholic came up. Jason asked his dad sarcastically, “What if ChiefsAholic is in the audience? He might steal that”. Travis then chimed in with his comment, “All of a sudden it just got real as f*ck”. Jason added, “This is a bank robber he’s on the road well he’s a Chiefs fan too if he’s here he’s probably a Travis Kelce fan”.

Beloved Kansas City Chiefs Fan ‘ChiefsAholic’ Faces Legal Troubles

Back in March, the Kelce brothers, Jason and Travis, known for their engaging and popular podcast, expressed their desire to have a special guest on their show – a passionate Kansas City Chiefs fan named “ChiefsAholic.” ChiefsAholic was a familiar face among Chiefs fans, regularly attending NFL games for several years. Clad in a distinctive gray wolf costume,  with a mask, Chiefs shirt, and shorts, he became a beloved and recognizable presence in both home and away games.

However, his absence during the Chiefs-Texans game in Houston on December 18, 2022, raised concerns among fellow supporters, as he had previously expressed his intention to be present.

According to the charging document, ChiefsAholic is accused of donning a paintball mask and brandishing a CO2 pistol to threaten two credit union employees during the robbery. After leaving the scene on a bicycle, he was apprehended in a nearby neighborhood. The subsequent search yielded significant evidence, including the recovered items found in his possession, such as the paintball mask, ski goggles, gloves, and a substantial amount of cash.

The impact of these actions extends beyond the individual involved, affecting the community and tarnishing the reputation of Chiefs fans as a whole. Amidst this unfortunate situation, it is crucial to remember that one person’s actions do not define an entire fanbase
