Saturday marked the first gameday of the NFL 2022 playoffs. A big matchup for the wild-card round was the Los Angeles Chargers visiting the Jaguars in Jacksonville. In all its glory, the NFL playoff round is a stage for stars to become legends. Keeping that in mind, young linebacker Drue Tranquill was in action for the Chargers as he had the mighty task of keeping Trevor Lawrence at bay.

Just in his fourth year this season, Tranquil has made Los Angeles his home. The linebacker was drafted by the Chargers in the fourth round of the 2019 draft.

The Notre Dame alumnus has had quite the season. Although shortlived by a miraculous comeback by the Jaguars, Tranquill has a lot to be proud of from his season. Having been a regular starter for the Chargers, Tranquill was key on defense while Justin Herbert and his crew did their thing on offense.

He continued his regular season form even last night having intercepted Trevor Lawrence once. Unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for the Chargers to come out on top.

Drue Tranquill’s Net worth

Not having drawn very enormous checks through his four-year career, Tranquill has a humble net worth of around $5 million. He hasn’t made the rounds to be a flashy personality either. In comparison to other NFL athletes, this seems like a very small amount. However, he can proudly wear the millionaire tag.

Tranquill signed a 4-year contract worth $3,178,808. Along with this, he had a $650,000 signing bonus and also $650,000 in guaranteed money. With these numbers, Tranquill has an average salary of about $800,000.

However, through the structure of his payments, he has encashed  $2,500,000 just this season. This will be huge for the linebacker as his contract expires at the end of this season. Entering into free agency, he is most deserving contract with a starting salary of more than what he made this year.

With the season he has had, he is most likely to even get an extension from the Chargers, or even get picked by another team in the off-season. Though his season has come to an end the $5 Million man, can enjoy some downtime now, feeling proud of the season he has had.
