The History Behind DeAndre Hopkins & Jalen Ramsey

Hopkins and Ramsey used to first matchup against each other in the AFC South. Back then, Ramsey was a member of the Jaguars while Hopkins played for the Texans.

Both stars were traded eventually. Ramsey was growing frustrated with the Jacksonville organization, and as a result, he forced a trade to the Los Angeles Rams in 2019.

Ramsey has been a stud cornerback for the Rams ever since he joined. In 2020, Ramsey allowed a completion percentage of just 50.7%, and he’s only given up two touchdowns in his tenure as a Ram.

Meanwhile, Hopkins was shockingly traded away to the Arizona Cardinals this past offseason. Then GM, Bill O’Brien, didn’t feel comfortable giving Hopkins big money and decided it would be better to move on.

Hopkins had 1,407 receiving yards and six touchdowns this season. He also had this amazing game winner:

With the NFL’s unique take on the Pro Bowl this year, we saw Ramsey and Hopkins go head to head once more in the NFL Pro Bowl Verzuz.

Verzuz is an online series founded by Swizz Beats and Timbaland. It has risen in popularity as it typically features live, virtual rap battles.

The NFL is using the same concept to have players go head-to-head by trash talking, comparing highlights, and rocking incredible outfits.

This was yet another epic chapter in the rivalry between Ramsey and Hopkins.
