“He’s Gonna Get Some Playing Time”: OJ Simpson Is Convinced the Cowboys Will Make Good Use Of Trey Lance Despite Having Dak Prescott

O.J. Simpson might have a direct landline to the Dallas Cowboys HQ. The NFL icon predicted the trade of Trey Lance from the San Francisco 49ers to the Cowboys way before it actually happened. In a recent video on social media, Simpson took a moment to pat himself on the back for accurately predicting the move. He then went on to explain why he believes that Cowboys owner/GM Jerry Jones made a smart move by signing the troubled QB.

Posting his customary videos on X (previously Twitter), O.J. Simpson addressed his followers with a big smile following Lance’s move to the Cowboys. He asserted that Trey Lance is poised to flourish as a Cowboys QB, as he will get more playing time; a luxury that the young QB didn’t have with the Niners.

O.J. Simpson Makes Accurate NFL Prediction

Time and time, OJ Simpson has proved his knack for calling NFL moves before they even happen. This time, it happened with the trade saga of Trey Lance. Before the news hit the internet, Simpson already had announced the move via a video on the micro-blogging platform X. This is what O.J. Simpson said in his video while discussing several landing spots for Lance which even included the Raiders and the Rams. He said,

“When I look at Lance, I see a good athlete with a strong arm. Question is, what’s a good landing spot for him? Well, maybe it’s with the Raiders? So as with, like, the LA Rams. Or you can go to a team that could be way ahead in the fourth quarter, and has the luxury of putting him in, like the Dallas Cowboys.”

After the trade was confirmed, O.J. Simpson made a reappearance on X with another video talking about his prophecy. He said, “This morning I called it. We talked about landing spots for Trey Lance, and I said it this morning, Dallas would be a good landing spot for him. And he went to Dallas. He’s gonna get some playing time, some league season playing time.”

Trey Lance now finds himself in the mix of things regarding the QB situation at the Cowboys. He’ll definitely have his work cut out. However, if we are to believe O.J. Simpson, then it’s only a matter of time before Trey Lance shows the world his true potential.

Dak Prescott Welcomes Trey Lance

The latest addition to the QB roster for the Dallas Cowboys, Trey Lance, comes with an interesting financial outlook. Apparently, the Cowboys have made a steal in signing the services of Lance for the next couple of seasons. The San Francisco 49ers have already covered Trey’s bonus for the year, $2.82 million to be exact. Given that, the Cowboys will now only be paying Lance $940,000 this year. Come next year, Lance will cost the Cowboys a guaranteed $5.3 million.

QB1 for the Dallas Cowboys, Dak Prescott, had his own response to the signing of young Trey Lance. His statement on being asked to comment on the trade underlined the business side of the NFL. He said, “Obviously I understand it’s a business. That’s a first-round talent and you’re always trying to make your team better. But that was the front office so we’re going to welcome him as we do any teammate and hopefully he just makes us better and we’re going to continue to get back at it and know that we’ve got one goal as a team.”

By the looks of it, Prescott was not directly involved in the decision to sign his backup. However, by welcoming Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys, Prescott underlined the ultimate goal of the team. It will be interesting to see how the Cowboys perform in the coming season.
