Russell Wilson gets inspired by an amazing story of Kobe Bryant from the 2008 Olympics

Not long ago, Russell Wilson decided to get some help from one of the elite trainers in the world of sports. Tim Grover helped NBA stars like Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant in achieving top-tier physicality. Therefore, it is not difficult to understand why DangeRuss chose Grover to help him in his new pursuit.

Russell Wilson joined the RebuildEd podcast last year, where he talked about his personal rebuilding journey with Tim Grover as his trainer. The Broncos quarterback also discussed how he went through with the transition from his last franchise, the Seattle Seahawks, to the Denver Broncos.

Russell Wilson saw MJ & Kobe’s success before hitting Grover up

The former Super Bowl winner studied and got inspired by athletes like Michael Jordan and Laker legend Kobe Bryant who reaped the benefits of joining hands with Grover.

“When you watch great athletes, like Michael Jordan growing up and Kobe Bryant, and what they were able to do. The finesse, but also the determination, the mindset. I always studied their games and always admired them. At some point, you have to figure out where do they learn from, where do they grow from, where are they pushed. That’s where I saw Tim.”

Wilson also said that even though he always had a strong team around him, he felt the need to contact Tim. Additionally, he learned in his rookie year that he should invest in his physical self, as whatever he’s done for himself has shown commendable results. Hence, with that mindset, Wilson got in touch with Grover, who responded to the star signal-caller.

For a span of 15 years, Grover served as Jordan’s trainer, and it was Jordan who introduced Kobe to Tim. Kobe faced challenges in his game after parting ways with Shaq, but once Tim became his trainer, he experienced a resurgence. Kobe led his team to three consecutive finals and secured two additional championship titles.

Wilson & Grover share the same ‘winning’ mindset

Winning holds great significance for athletes, as it represents the ultimate validation of their skills. It leads to recognition, fame, and lucrative opportunities. Hence, when Grover came out with a three word message about winning, Wilson was quick to provide an indication that he shares the same mindset.

“Winning is everything,” Grover had Tweeted and his message was instantly liked by the star quarterback. Without a doubt, it is Russell’s winning mindset which has allowed him to stay optimistic after a horrible outing in 2022. However, as Russell has a strong head on his shoulders and a champion trainer to help him stay fit, we can expect the Broncos Army to get more chances to celebrate this year.
