Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson is undoubtedly a superstar in the world of the NFL. For the Seattle Seahawks, he played for nearly a decade and delivered innumerable noteworthy performances.

However, ahead of the 2022 season, Wilson demanded a trade and went to the Denver Broncos. Everyone in the league was excited, fans were buying Wilson’s Broncos jersey in numbers and the season was perfectly set-up for Broncos’ domination.

However, all the hopes of the fans came crashing down as Wilson failed to deliver even mediocre performances. Right from the word go, Russell has been extremely poor. Under pressure he has faltered, his leadership has been sub-par as even his own mates were seen yelling at him mid-game.

Things went so bad that Broncos’ prime time game against the Chiefs was shifted to a less important spot, just because the fans were sick of watching boring Broncos games.

Brett Rypien To Start In Russell Wilson’s Absence

Till now, Wilson has scored just 11 touchdowns and is placed at the 25th position on the list of QBs with TDs. Moreover, he has thrown 6 interceptions as well and to make matters even worse, he was placed on concussion protocol a little while back.

There were rumors that Wilson might miss the game against the Cardinals tonight because of the head injury he sustained against the Chiefs. Although it is true that Wilson will miss tonight’s game, the reason behind his absence is not injury at all.

Wilson passed the concussion protocol on Friday and was cleared to play against Arizona. However, the Broncos think tank has decided to bench him and give a chance to Brett Rypien.

Obviously, we had a little incident last week,” Wilson claimed, as reported by Zac Stevens of DNVR Broncos. “I thought the training staff and everybody did a great job and went through all the testing, all the protocol stuff.

Did a great job through it, passed with flying colors. Everything went great. I got to practice this week, but they wanted to give me another week to recover and all that,” Wilson added.

It will be interesting to see how the Broncos perform in Wilson’s absence.
