Is Tom Brady retiring? Will the Bucs QB call it a career after this season?

Tom Brady will face off against the Dallas Cowboys in a wild-card matchup today that many people believe could be his last one if the Bucs can’t win tonight.

Brady has played a long and successful career up till this point. He’s played 23 seasons in the league, going to 10 Super Bowls, and winning 7 of them.

He’s achieved everything you could possibly want from a quarterbacking standpoint. He’s won more Super Bowls than any other franchise in NFL history, and he owns every major passing record you could think of. Brady’s skillset combined with his longevity has made him the best to ever play the game.

However, after years and years of delaying the process, the Bucs QB decided to call it up after last season. Brady announced his retirement, and everyone thought, that was that.

That retirement lasted all of 40 days before Brady announced that he was back. He has one more year left on his contract, and after this year, the same questions about Brady’s career going forward will be asked again.

Is Tom Brady retiring?

As of now, there’s no clear indication on what Brady is doing after this season. Could this game against Dallas be the last time we see Brady on the field? Perhaps.

He has nothing to play for anymore except the glory of the game itself and perhaps walking off a winner as Peyton Manning did. Yet, that was the case last year too, and Brady still came back.

And still, we wonder if Brady will come back. He’s 45 years old. Brady just went through the most tumultuous offseason of his life as he and his long-time wife Gisele Bündchen divorced. He has a family that wants him back.

These are all questions that will weigh heavily on Brady’s mind when he makes a decision on what to do with his career. However, if Brady is to make a decision, you can definitely expect him to take his time with it. He recently discussed Aaron Rodgers’ retirement, and he had some sound advice for another legend contemplating retirement.

“Aaron, in my belief, is spectacular,” he said on his ‘Let’s Go’ podcast. “He can obviously continue to play and he has all the ability in the world to do that. And there’s a lot of other things that come into play and he’ll make that decision when it’s right for him. And everyone should give him the time and space to do it.”

For right now, Brady isn’t even entertaining the thought of retiring. All that matters to him now is beating the Dallas Cowboys, and that’s where his focus will be.
