Jarrett Stidham is a 26-year-old American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the National Football League. After transferring from Baylor, he attended Auburn and was drafted by the New England Patriots in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Stidham began his collegiate football career at Baylor, where he started three games as a true freshman in 2015. He then transferred to McLennan Community College, where he spent one semester but did not play football. Stidham later transferred to Auburn, where he began playing in 2017 and 2018.

When the Patriots released veteran quarterback Brian Hoyer, their fourth-round pick, who later replaced Brady as the starting quarterback, it was clear they had high expectations for him. As a rookie, Stidham played in three games, completing two of his four passes for a total of 14 yards. After Brady left the league in March 2020, many analysts in the league believed that Stidham would take over as Brady’s quarterback.
Stidham was traded to the Las Vegas Raiders on May 13, 2022, along with a pick in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft, for a pick in the sixth round. Josh McDaniels, the head coach of the Raiders, and Stidham were reunited as a result of the trade.
