The Vikings staged the biggest comeback in NFL history, winning 39-36 in overtime. The record was earlier held by the Bills who scripted a 32-point victory over the Houston Oilers in 1993. The Vikings won the game and sealed their place atop their division with kicker Greg Joseph’s 40-yard field goal in overtime.

The Vikings were down 33-0. Some athletes were unsure whether Peterson was serious or making a death joke. After all, NFL teams have scored five touchdowns after halftime in roughly three out of every 1,000 games this century.
With slightly more than two minutes remaining in regulation, the game’s biggest play occurred. Minnesota’s first play after forcing a turnover on downs was a short pass to star running back Dalvin Cook, who returned it 64 yards for a touchdown. The game would begin with a two-point lead for the Vikings.
Kirk Cousin took a moment to realize what had happened
When the Vikings were trailing the Colts 33-0 on Saturday, Kirk Cousins recalled the motivation Patrick Peterson provided for the team at halftime. In the end, Minnesota made the biggest comeback in NFL history by winning the game in overtime.
“In NFL history?!”

Kirk Cousins, the quarterback of the Minnesota Vikings, was not immediately aware that his team had just accomplished the greatest comeback in NFL history. Cousins needed a moment to process the significance of Minnesota’s historic moment before responding to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero’s question about it.
Speaking on the NFL Network, Cousins. “The belief existed. All we needed, according to Patrick Peterson, were five touchdowns. Win the division is the aim each year. We have that covered, but we still need to play much better.”

Kirk Cousins had the last laugh as well. The Vikings quarterback became a meme early in the game after collapsing after a lineman stepped on his foot.
After the pick-six, Cousins appeared to be in for a tough game, but he bounced back like a champ. Cousins completed 34 of 54 passes for 460 yards, four touchdowns, and two interceptions.
