Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson, one of the most talented young quarterbacks in the league, was expected to fetch one of the biggest contract extensions last year. After all, he has been the backbone of the Baltimore-badsed franchise for a few years now.

After an injury to Joe Flacco, Jackson became Ravens’ starting quarterback in his rookie season back in 2018. Defying all expectations, Lamar ended up guiding his team to a divisional title and then went on to clinch the MVP honors in his second season in the competition.

Adam Schefter claims that Lamar Jackson is headed to Washington

With an incredibly impressive and almost unbelievable Resumé at his disposal, Lamar was expected to rake in tonnes of cash upon getting an extension deal. However, the Ravens just haven’t offered him enough money and as a result, after several rounds of chatter, Jackson has agreed for a deal and is expected to be traded quite soon.

As it turns out, as per NFL Insider Adam Schefter, Lamar might be headed to Washington ahead of the 2023 season. While this is a massive update, the way it was announced by Adam actually ended up breaking the internet. Schefter, in the middle of ‘Pardon My Take‘ podcast, got a text from a source who suggested that Dan Snyder is leaving no stone unturned in adding Lamar to the Commanders’ roster.

The Washington-Lamar deal is starting to pick up. What they are offering is now looking like will be agreed upon tonight,” Adam claimed. “As the deal heated up, Dan Snyder jumped in to take it to the finish line by adding another first round pick and fully guaranteeing 6 years,” he added.

Adam was definitely playing around with the hosts of the podcast. He just got them all excited for potentially nothing and it won’t be wrong to say that the NFL Insider deserves a best actor nomination at the upcoming Oscars for his performance.

Dan Snyder wants to end his ‘legacy’ at Washington with Lamar Jackson trade?

With absolutely everything going haywire for the Commanders in the past couple of years, Lamar’s inclusion might give a nice boost to the franchise. Adam suggested that as per his source, Dan’s attempts to recruit Jackson is his final move before he eventually sells the franchise.

Of course Schefter was playing around but if something like this actually ends up happening, then the Commanders would possibly find a better price from a bigger buyer. Along with this, the Lamar trade might be the last good thing Dan would like to do for the franchise as under him, the team has faced nothing but backlash and lawsuits for allegedly engaging in questionable practices.
