Miami Dolphins Put In a Tight Spot With Tyreek Hill and Tua Tagovailoa’s New Contracts In Horizon

NFL analyst Joy Taylor came on air to crown Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill as the best QB-WR duo in the NFL, above other major duos like Aaron Rodgers-Garrett Wilson, Joe Burrow-Ja’Marr Chase, Kirk Cousins-Justin Jefferson, and a lot more. How bold of a take is this? Well, the Tua-Tyreek combo was deadly before Tua started getting into injury trouble last year. Hill is one of the most explosive receivers in the league, and he quickly brought a new dimension to the Dolphins’ offense last year.

Tua had a career year last year. He surpassed his yardage and touchdown totals by a long shot. The biggest reason why is definitely Tyreek Hill. Hill is one of the best receivers in the game, routinely putting up numbers that make your head shake. Last year, Hill set career highs in receiving yards with 1,710 and receptions with 119. Mind you, this was just his first year with the Dolphins, and he already created one of the most dynamic duos in the league with Tua. So, perhaps Joy Taylor’s statement isn’t as far out there as it seems.

Joy Taylor justifies her stance on Tua Tagovailoa and Tyreek Hill

When it came down to picking the best QB-WR duo in the league, NFL analyst Joy Taylor knew that it was “splitting hairs” between all the good combos in the league.

However, her argument didn’t boil down to stats. Tyreek Hill ranked second in the league in receiving yards behind Justin Jefferson’s 1,809. Jefferson might be the best receiver in the game, which Joy acknowledged, but she felt like there was something different about Tyreek Hill.

She called him one of the most unique players to play in the NFL ever, given his skillset and talent. As we all know, Hill is most likely the fastest wide receiver in the league, giving him a chance to take the top off the defense every game. For that reason, Taylor ranked Tua and Tyreek as the best combo in the league.

It definitely does invite some questions though. Can you really pick a duo who’s played just one year together as the best? Cousins and Jefferson have been lighting it up for longer and Jefferson is arguably a better receiver. Josh Allen and Stefon Diggs have spent tremendous time together as well, can you really write them off?

What about the new duos in the league too? Aaron Rodgers and Garrett Wilson are going to be the primary people to watch in New York as they look to win a title together. On that same front, Lamar Jackson just acquired Odell Beckham Jr. There are many great QB-WR duos in the league and picking the best is always hard.

Tua-Tyreek isn’t a bad choice.

Tua and Tyreek have a lot to build off next year as Hill looks to set records

The main problem last year with the Dolphins was Tua’s health. He first suffered a concussion during the Bengals game in week 4, came back two weeks later, and was concussed again during the December 25th game against the Packers.

Now that Tua is back, the hope is that Miami can protect him so that he can thrive with Tyreek Hill again. Hill is setting some lofty goals for himself next year including chasing down some NFL records.

He thinks that a 2,000-yard season isn’t out of the question given the kind of player he is.

Hill trusts Tua a lot, labeling him as the most accurate quarterback he’s played with since the day he joined the Dolphins. He also sees Tua putting in the work this offseason to be a leader within the team.

Per SportsIllustrated Hill said, “(He’s) organizing workouts outside of the Miami Dolphins stadium. When I first got here, I said, ‘Bro, you should be comfortable with telling a group of wideouts to just meet you somewhere.’ We’re going to pull up regardless, so he’s been doing a great job.”
