NFL International Games 2021

NFL International Games 2021: The NFL released the schedule for the 2021 season earlier today and it announced the return of the International Series Games. And the top two picks in the 2021 NFL draft, will be on the international stage this season with their teams set to play in London.

The NFL’s London Games became a series as it comprised 28 games over 13 consecutive seasons from 2007-2019. The initiative was considered a big step in increasing the popularity of the sport outside of the United States. This season’s games will represent the initiative after the coronavirus pandemic forced all games in 2020 to be played in the United States.

NFL London Games Schedule

The Tottenham Hotspur stadium in 2020 will play host to 4 teams in 2021.

The first game will see the Atlanta Falcons host the upcoming New York Jets on Oct 10th. And Trevor Lawrence led Jacksonville Jaguars will be home against the Miami Dolphins the following week on October 17th. Both games will kick off at 2:30 pm GMT.

This year’s schedule means that fans in the UK will get to see some of the most exciting quarterbacks in the League, from the first two picks of the 2021 NFL Draft — Trevor Lawrence (Jaguars) and Zach Wilson (Jets) — to four-time Pro Bowler Matt Ryan of the Falcons and Dolphins’ talented top 5 pick Tua Tagovailoa.

The NFL Executive VP spoke about the Coronavirus concerns.

We are excited to be returning to London and welcoming back our fans for two great matchups,” said Christopher Halpin, NFL Executive Vice-President. “We have been working closely with the UK government, the city of London and the relevant health organizations over the past year in planning the games. Through their successful vaccine rollout and commitment to bringing crowds back to sports events, the time is right for the return of NFL football this fall,”

“We will continue to monitor the COVID environment, putting health and safety first, and will adhere to any and all future COVID regulations and restrictions.”

The Jaguars will be playing their eighth home game in London, while the Dolphins will play in the UK for the fifth time, and the second time as the road team. The Falcons and Jets will both take the field in London for the second time.
