Patrick Mahomes, the star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs is getting ready to play for his sixth season in the NFL. Pat is fresh off from winning his second Super Bowl title and many are already hailing him as one of the best quarterbacks in the league. Some are even drawing parallels and comparison between him and the NFL GOAT Tom Brady.

Throughout his career, Mahomes has been respectful and loving of the signal callers who dominated the scene before him. Oftentimes, the 27-year-old has also desired to play as well as his favorites did. Hence, like any other fan, Mahomes has his list of top five players prepared at the tip of his tongue.
Patrick Mahomes reveals his top 5 quarterbacks
Recently, the Kansas City superstar was asked by Ben Felderstein of Complex, to pick his top 5 quarterbacks to ever grace the National Football League. While many were largely satisfied with Patrick’s picks, Drew Brees fans were left a bit dejected as the current Super Bowl champion didn’t include him in his list. Revealing his picks, Patrick told Ben:
“Yeah, I mean you got to say Tom [Brady]‘s one. But if you talk about the legends of the game, Tom, Peyton Manning, obviously Aaron Rodgers, Joe Montana and then it gets down to Dan Marino or John Elway to round off your top five. But I mean there’s some great quarterbacks that played this game man, I’m just trying to learn from them because even though the game has progressed, there’s still stuff in the past that helps you become a better quarterback.”

Brady has done what a team in the league never did by collecting seven Super Bowl rings. Peyton Manning was the QB who changed the scene by showing his adaptability and flexibility. The former Packers QB, Aaron Rodgers, is known for his ability to throw accurate and precise passes, while Joe Montana’s speciality was his remarkable poise under pressure and ability to perform at his best in clutch moments.
Dan Marino was known for his incredible passing ability and accuracy. He possessed a strong and accurate arm, allowing him to make difficult throws with ease. John Elway showed his exceptional athleticism and ability to make plays with his legs. He was known for his strong arm and ability to throw the ball deep. Thus, this shows that Mahomes’ choices are elite.
While it is completely true that picking only 5 quarterbacks from a long list will always result in some or the other legend getting snubbed, one can understand why Brees fans were a bit disappointed. In his two decade long career, Drew registered second most career passing yards, career touchdown passes, and pass completions.

Moreover, he also has the longest streak of any quarterback to have most consecutive games with a TD pass. However, Brees never won the season MVP honors and earned just one Lombardi in his otherwise illustrious career, which might have forced Mahomes to put other stars on his list instead of the New Orleans legend.
How many Super Bowl titles would Mahomes like to win?
When Felderstein asked the Chiefs QB how many Super Bowl rings he would like to win, he had the most apt reply. As an NFL player, he would love to win every Super Bowl championship.
He said, “As many as possible. I mean, they’re so hard to win. Everybody’s going to say you want to chase Brady and try to get to eight or whatever. I don’t know if I’m going to play until I’m 45, so I’m going to try. My kids will be already out of high school if I play that long, so I don’t know, we’ll see when we get there.”
“But I’m going to play this game until I can’t play at a high level and try to take care of my body. But I’ll try to win as many as possible. And I mean, you think of eight or whatever Tom won, that seems crazy now, so I’ll take it one at a time, but I’ll try to win as many as I can.“
