Manning was one of the most talented quarterbacks to have played in the NFL. He could air it out as far as you’d want to, he had the intelligence that you would need from a franchise quarterback, and he had the determination and competitive drive to lead any team to success.
He first found success with the Indianapolis Colts, the team that drafted him first overall. Manning built a special connection with wide receivers Marvin Harrison and later Reggie Wayne to forge one of the most dominant AFC teams of the 2000s.
The Colts would win a Super Bowl under Manning’s guidance, beating the Chicago Bears in the 2006-07 season 29-17. Manning couldn’t finish out his career unfortunately as a neck injury derailed the progress he had made with the team. Indy opted to go younger, and they drafted Andrew Luck out of Stanford while moving on from Manning.
However, as great as Manning was, he would find immediate success in his new home: Denver. Manning simply had too much talent to lead a bad team, and even after his severe neck injury, he didn’t slow down.

The 2013 season saw Manning lead an offense that broke every record possible. Manning threw for a record 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns while the Broncos set the record for the most points scored in a season with 606. This machine of an offense met its match in the Super Bowl where Seattle’s Legion of Boom held it to 8 points, but Manning wasn’t done.
Even in his worst season as a starter, Manning came up when he needed to. The Broncos defense in 2015 was so dominant that Manning just had to play a relaxed and normal game. That’s exactly what he did as the Broncos won the Super Bowl, and ‘The Sheriff’ rode off into the sunset, retiring with a Super Bowl win.

Peyton Manning playoff record: How many postseason wins does Peyton Manning have?
Peyton Manning has played in a total of 27 playoff games, and he has a stellar record of 14-13. At first glance, 14-13 doesn’t seem like that impressive of a record, but winning postseason games in the NFL is hard, especially since you only have one shot at beating a team each postseason.
It’s also more impressive when you consider that Manning’s 14 wins rank third all-time for an NFL QB. The only two ahead of him are Tom Brady at 35 and Joe Montanna at 16.
Manning has played in several memorable playoff games, notably against rival Tom Brady. The duo shared a storied rival, one of the best quarterback rivalries in NFL history, if not the best.
This included the AFC Championship game in the 2006-07 season which the Colts won 38-34 in a dramatic way.

There was also the 2016 AFC Championship game which saw the Broncos eke out a 2-point victory over the Patriots which again took Manning to the Super Bowl, his final one at that too.
