‘Undisputed’ host Skip Bayless is a firebrand in the NFL community. Infamous for his controversial opinions, and his apparent lack of empathy, he doesn’t shy away from a fight. However, it might just seem he’s had a fight too many, especially with his co-host, Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe. Wednesday’s show gave us a glimpse of their already strained relationship.

Sharpe missed Tuesday’s program, and Bayless had to do the show on his own. The day before, Bayless took to Twitter to pose a question that the NFL community took to be rather insensitive, especially in the wake of Damar Hamlin’s injury. It seemed as if Bayless was more interested in knowing about the postponed game, rather than Hamlin. He later clarified through another Tweet that he meant no such thing.
No doubt the NFL is considering postponing the rest of this game – but how? This late in the season, a game of this magnitude is crucial to the regular-season outcome … which suddenly seems so irrelevant.

However, not everyone was convinced by his clarification, including Sharpe. The 3 time Super Bowl winner decided to show his disapproval by not turning up for the show on Tuesday, according to TMZ. Bayless took the opportunity to present a monologue wherein he apologized for starting the show, and how it will be a difficult ordeal for him.

Skip Bayless rudely interrupts Shannon Sharpe on Undisputed, upsets Sharpe
Sharpe’s return to the show started with Sharpe trying to explain his emotions regarding the entire Damar Hamlin situation. He says, “In watching that game Monday night, what happened to Damar Hamlin struck me a little different.”
“As a brotherhood in the NFL, when injuries happen, we know injuries are part of the game. I’ve seen guys suffer ACLs, an Achilles tear, but I’ve never seen anybody revived or have to fight for their life on the field. So it struck me a little differently because I remembered seeing my brother [Sterling Sharpe] paralyzed on the field temporarily, and he was able to regain focus,” he adds.
Sharpe then attempts to briefly address the elephant in the room: Bayless’ Tweet. However, having barely made a mention of the Tweet, Bayless erupted into a fireball. “Skip tweeted something and although I disagree with the tweet — and hopefully, Skip will take it down…” was all Sharpe could manage to say before Bayless called for a “Timeout”.

“Time out – I’m not going to take it down because I stand by what I tweeted,” Bayless said. At this point, Sharpe was fed up with Bayless’ antics. Sharpe retorts, “I mean I can not even get through a monologue without you interrupting me!” He explains how he only intended to say that Bayless’ Tweet should not be in the spotlight, rather they should focus on Hamlin’s health.
Bayless continues to defend himself, saying he was under the impression Sharpe was not going to bring this up because no one has a problem. Sharpe clearly disagreed, but rather than fight his co-host on this, he chose to address his other co-host, Jen Hale. “Let’s go ahead, Jen,” he says, while Bayless sat there with an exasperated look on his face.
The relationship between these two has been deteriorating rapidly of late. Bayless has time and again taken some personal shots at Sharpe. Including a few weeks ago, when he tried to defend an underperforming Tom Brady. Safe to say, Sharpe’s patience is running thin. Bayless will have to be careful with his words if he doesn’t want to end up hosting his show alone. Will Sharpe pull the plug on ‘Undisputed’?
