"NOT GOOD WITH ASKING PUNTER CHRIS JONES TO THROW A PASS": Skip Bayless Criticizes Cowboys for Fake Punt Call

Chris Jones missed a pass to C.J. Goodwin prompting a harsh response from Skip Bayless. Bayless ripped into Jones’ throw and the Cowboy’s decision.

Chris Jones Failed Punt Attempt

So, just how bad was this fake punt? Well, have a look for yourself.

Yeah, that’s about as bad as it can get. The play-call wasn’t terrible, the Cowboys were trailing 14-0 at that point and needed any spark they could get. However, the Cowboys could have drawn up the fake punt differently, that wouldn’t have required their punter to launch a pass downfield.

Cowboys Catastrophic Day

Overall, it’s been a really busy day for the Cowboys punter, Chris Jones. The Cowboys have failed to generate anything on offense and as a result it’s led to multiple punting situations.

In fact, here’s how the game started out for Dallas.

Things only got marginally better from there as the Cowboys trail the Falcons, 29-10 heading into halftime. For a team loaded with offensive power, this has to be a disappointment for the Cowboys. Their offense has struggled to take off this season as they were held to 17 points in week 1.

There’s still a lot of time left in this football game, so the Cowboys could definitely turn it around, however this has to be slightly concerning for the Cowboys. Maybe, that’s why they chose to have Chris Jones throw the football.
