Tampa Bay’s second round pick, Kyle Trask, will be entering the NFL in a unique and ideal situation. The Florida QB will be joining the reigning champs, and backing up the most successful football player in league history.

The Buccaneers, who returned all 22 starters from their Super Bowl victory in February, had no glaring needs heading into the 2021 NFL Draft. They were in a position to simply take the best player available.
On day 2, with the 64th overall pick, Arians and co. selected Trask. Of course, with the greatest QB in NFL history already on the roster, Trask is more of a long term project.
The former Gator will have the chance to learn from Tom Brady, and if all goes well, replace him when Brady calls it quits. The selection just feels right, given that Trask is accustomed to Florida and has a similar play style to Brady.
“Staying in Florida is amazing,” said Trask, after being drafted. “I loved my time at the University of Florida. To have the opportunity to continue my career right down the road is amazing. I love the state of Florida. I’m glad I get to stay there for now.”
Tom Brady Invited Kyle Trask To Start Throwing Together
Amongst other things, Tom Brady is well known for his work ethic. Not the most naturally gifted athlete, he more than compensates by putting in the hard work.
So, it was unsurprising that after Trask was drafted, Brady reached out to see if the pair could start practicing together. In an interview with NFL Network, Trask was asked if he had spoken with Brady yet.
Kyle Trask on NFL Network mentioned Tom Brady reached out to him to see when he would be in town to start throwing together.

“Yeah, he actually did, he reached out to me a couple days after the draft and you know, he was just making sure, or checking in on when I get into town so we can get together and maybe do some throwing and things like that,” he said. “It meant a lot to me.”
“Not only Tom,” he added, “but a couple of other guys have reached out so you can definitely tell they have a great culture and a great group of people in this building and I can’t wait to get started.”
