Travis Hunter Provides Injury Update While Sporting a Special Giraffe Costume; “Ain’t Having the Energy to Get Up”
Colorado Buffaloes wide receiver Travis Hunter, who got badly injured during his game against Colorado State, recently provided an update on how he is holding up while wearing a lovely giraffe costume. Despite suffering a heartbreaking injury, the 20-year-old showed plenty of grace while talking about it, and how he’s handling himself at the moment.
In a video uploaded by Bleacher Report, Travis was seen interacting online with his fans and during the session, Travis revealed that he is just sleeping a lot and trying to get back on the field as soon as possible. Hunter has earned himself the limelight this season after emerging as one of the biggest stars for the Buffaloes.
Travis Hunter Gives an Injury Update After Sustaining a Massive Hit
Deion Sanders‘ Colorado Buffaloes continued their dream run in college football with a 43-35 comeback victory over Colorado State. Despite the victory, there was a sour feeling with star Travis Hunter suffering an injury during the game. Hunter, who is a rare talent due to his dual positional skills, spoke about his injury while appearing on a fan interaction session uploaded by Barstool Sports wearing a giraffe costume.
While many players of his age would be completely dejected after suffering an injury of that sort, Hunter was extremely mature when asked about his thoughts on the incident. He claimed that injuries are bound to happen while playing football and did not want to look too much into it. Hunter also revealed that he is currently resting a lot in order to let his body heal naturally.
“It’s football at the end of the day. Stuff like that’s gonna happen. I just stay humble. He did what he was supposed to do. It’s football. Something like that was gonna happen on the field sooner or later… I’m asleep all day. I ain’t having the energy to get up and try to do a lot of things. Trying to rest… Just got to rest, let the bodies do what the body have to do,” Hunter said while talking about his recovery process.
The 20-year-old is all set to remain out of action for a few weeks at least, after being struck with a brutal hit from CSU safety, Henry Blackburn.
Travis Hunter Left the Game Early After Being Hit By Henry Blackburn
Travis Hunter suffered a vicious hit during the first quarter against Colorado State University while playing as a wide receiver. CSU safety Henry Blackburn’s shoulder struck Hunter in the mid-section as both of them competed for the ball. Hunter emerged second best from the personal duel and stayed on the ground feeling the effects of the hit.
Hunter left the gridiron but eventually returned to the game later on. However, he left the game early to visit the hospital and was later diagnosed with a lacerated liver. Blackburn’s hit on Hunter raised the temperature on the field, with the game turning into a hostile one. The Colorado Buffaloes will miss his services for their crucial upcoming games against Oregon and USC.
