The Deion Sanders hype train with his magical Colorado squad has taken over the entire nation. A number of celebrities especially NBA stars are often seen rooting for Coach Prime during game days but apparently, the Nuggets star Nikola Jokic isn’t aware of the sudden football hype just 29 miles north of Denver. This prompted a response from Travis Hunter on the NBA star’s blunt response.

In his latest episode of 12 Talks with Travis Hunter, via Bleacher Report, the two-way weapon of the Buffaloes had an honest reaction to Nikola Jokic, who had an earnest response when asked about Deion Sanders on his Monday’s Nuggets Media Day. And Hunter’s reaction was as mature as it can get.
Nikola Jokic’s Blunt Response When Asked About Deion Sanders
Colorado is certainly a booming state for football and basketball. On one hand, there is Nikola Jokic and his Denver Nuggets who are the reigning NBA Champions, while on the other hand, there is Coach Prime and his band of freshly recruited players who are setting the stage of college football on fire.
However, when Jokic was asked about Deion Sanders, who is lighting it up at Boulder, the Joker had a very blunt response to it. With folds on his forehead and a face reflecting naivety, he responded, “No, sorry.” Seemingly, the NBA superstar is not a big fan of American Football. But for someone who hails from Serbia and has just returned to the States to do his job, his reaction is certainly understandable.
However, many fans were certainly having fun with how the 28-year-old center reacted. One fan joked, “Lmao he just wants to be back with his horses.” While another fan said, “Do you know much about the cricket coach from a college in Serbia?” Many others also pointed out the ridiculousness of the question asked by the reporter which seemed irrelevant to the topic.
Travis Hunter Reacting To Jokic’s Response
Travis Hunter in his sixth episode of 12 Talks, via Bleacher Report, talked about Colorado’s loss against USC and other stories coming out of Boulder, and one of them was Nikola Jokic responding to a reporter who was curious whether the Serbian knew about Deion Sanders.
“Yeah, I seen that just now, before I came back downstairs,” he said after replaying the clip from the Nuggets Media Day. “Hey, Jokic is not from USA, so I don’t think he watch football either so, I wouldn’t expect him to know Coach Prime.”
It was certainly a mature and thoughtful reaction from the 20-year-old. However, with the pace by which the Buffaloes are climbing up the rating ladder on TV, it won’t be long before Jokic becomes a fan of Coach Prime and the young men of Boulder.
