Trumping Tom Brady's $50,000,000 Private Jet, Michael Jordan Shot Up His Gulfstream G-IV's Value After Renovating it in Typical "MJ-Fashion"

Tom Brady and Michael Jordan are two of the richest athletes in sporting history, but the NBA GOAT’s private jet just might be better and a little heavier on the bank account than Tom Brady’s. Brady and Gisele bought the Gulfstream G550 private jet in 2008 to help them travel between Los Angeles and Massachusetts easily. The price tag of this incredible jet was a whopping $50 million. Of course, to Brady, that isn’t much, but billionaire Michael Jordan found a way to top it. His Gulfstream G-IV cost him a massive $62 million.

Adding to that, Jordan further renovated the aircraft to potentially drive up the price even more. Obviously, these two athletes aren’t in a boxing match for who can fly the most expensive jet, but it just goes to show what a billionaire’s money can afford. There’s also no doubt that anyone with a private jet holds elite status, being the richest of the rich, but Michael Jordan also had to go out of his way to make sure that his jet embodied who he was.

Michael Jordan ousts Tom Brady in the battle of Gulfstream Jets with new renovations

Why did Brady and Gisele need their jet? Well, aside from being a rich person’s luxury, it offered them a convenient way to travel between Los Angeles and Massachusetts. At the time the former couple bought the jet, Brady was a Patriot, and there’s no doubt that both he and Gisele had business in California too.

Brady was brought up in California, and Gisele’s modeling career would have had her working out of California at some point. A jet made sense as it was a fast way to travel across the country. Reports show that this jet could house 19 people, could fly for 12 hours without needing to be refueled, and could reach speeds of 600 miles per hour.

Brady and Gisele’s plane is impressive, but their jet is much more standard when looking at Michael Jordan’s. Jordan initially had the jet designed with a baby blue and white wrap to represent UNC where he played college ball. However, in 2017, he redid the entire plane.

The tag N236MJ represents his jersey number, the number of rings he has, and his initials. The jet has its logo on it, and it comes equipped with Rolls-Royce engines. The entire aircraft screams Michael Jordan. The NBA GOAT likes to travel from his house in Florida to the Bahamas, and he has plenty of amenities for him inside.

There’s a private bedroom inside with a large bed, stylish furniture, and a large bathroom. There’s a bar, a stash of cigars, and a luxurious dining area.

Tom Brady and Michael Jordan continue to add to their wealth to add more luxuries

Private jets are just an indication of the kind of wealth these two legends of the game have, but they’re not done adding to it. In fact, Jordan’s career after his time in the NBA has netted him most of his money. The former Bulls legend is now a businessman, looking to secure his wealth and profit for years to come.

Brady is trying to do the same now. He’s already secured a 10-year, $375 million deal with Fox, and that’s just the start of it. He’s launched a clothing line, the Brady brand, for athletic wear, and he’s building upon the projects he’s already started like the TB12 Method. Brady’s focus has also shifted now to making money and being a savvy businessman, just like Michael Jordan.
