"We All Know Paul Pierce's Truth": Marcellus Wiley Is Unwilling to Accept "The Truth's" Defense For His Wheelchair Incident

Paul Pierce is the subject of the most famous wheelchair ride in NBA history, but former NFL player Marcellus Wiley is unwilling to accept “The Truth’s” truth about the situation. In the 2008 NBA Finals, Paul Pierce infamously walked off the court after suffering what seemed like a serious injury. He was taken back to the Celtics’ locker room in a wheelchair, indicating that he didn’t have the power or ability to walk on his own weight.

However, minutes later, Pierce was back on the court like nothing happened, helping lead the Celtics to a massive win in game one. The Celtics would go on to win the series 4-2, eliminating the rival Kobe Bryant-led Los Angeles Lakers. It was a memorable moment, and it seemed like Pierce really showed his toughness. However, rumors broke that may have faked an injury and used the wheelchair to cover up the fact that he needed to use the bathroom (and might already have). Pierce denies this story, but former NFL player Marcellus Wiley thinks otherwise.

Marcellus Wiley calls out Paul Pierce and his defense for his story

Recently, Paul Pierce once more offered some insight into the entire situation and tried to clear up the fake reports. He posed a very logical question, asking why he would sit down in a wheelchair if he had bathroom issues in his pants.

However, Wiley isn’t buying it. He Tweeted out a response to Pierce’s reply in which he sarcastically called out “The Truth” (pun intended.

What is Wiley referring to? Well, perhaps he’s talking about the fact that Pierce has implied in the past that this incident really did happen. It seems like Pierce is changing his story up as it seems convenient.

Now, Pierce might have been sarcastic in this clip, but it does open up a lot of questions. Wiley isn’t keen to hop on Pierce’s truthtelling narrative just yet, and it shows.

Marcellus Wiley is following in Travis and Jason Kelce’s footsteps to get big in the sports media market

Marcellus Wiley was a former defensive end for several teams including primarily the Buffalo Bills and San Diego Chargers. However, past his football career now, he’s hoping to join several other former and current players who have a major presence online.

He’s started to become more active on YouTube and Twitter, even coming up in discussions about other famous sportscasters. He was recently in a podcast discussing who should replace Shannon Sharpe.

Just like the Manning brothers and Pat McAfee have found a second job after their playing careers, Wiley may be looking to do just that and make a bigger name for himself.
