Deion Sanders has made a name for himself at the highest level. First as a player in the NFL and the MLB, and now as a college football coach. Perhaps this is why the Colorado Buffaloes’ HC feels there is no better candidate for this year’s Madden cover than himself!

The NFL has seen its fair share of all-rounders who excelled at various position on the gridiron. However, not many have been able to match the credentials Sanders boasts off. The 2x Super Bowl champion had a wonderful stint at JSU, before making his way to Colorado this year. Maybe that’s why he wants to be featured on the Madden cover.
Deion Sanders puts his hat in the ring to be featured on the Madden cover
In a recent video posted on coach Deion’s Instagram and Twitter handles, he can be seen claiming that there is no better option for this year’s Madden cover feature, than himself. “Why Not? What’s the problem?” Sanders says before naming a few stars who might end up featuring on the cover instead of him.
“If you want to be technical about it, tell me somebody that’s exciting, interesting, breathtaking… Tyreek Hill. That Cheetah ain’t no joke… Jalen Hurts, I don’t know who else. (Nick) Bosa? One of the Wyatt brothers, that’s about it. I mean, just to be sure, me,” Deion says.

Many fans absolutely loved Sanders for putting himself up to be on Madden’s cover this year. One fan commented on the video, “Prime should be on the Madden cover!!! I’m talking Falcons Prime with the Jheri curl”. While another one chipped in with, “Deion Sanders hands downs 🙌🏾 you have my vote”. The cover for this year’s game will be released on June 7.
Sanders has been under a lot of heat for leaving Jackson State University
Although Sanders mostly end up receiving a lot of praise for his on and off field heroics, there have been some rather negative headlines about him in the recent times. Especially after he left Jackson State University to take up the head coach role at Colorado Boulder. Though Sanders left Jackson State as one of its most successful coaches in recent times, many assumed that he made the move to Colorado just to earn more money.
Sanders has been constantly defending his choice on social media. He even recently said on an Instagram story, “They MAD because they can’t figure out how you still being blessed after they lied and tried to slander your name”. Though he did admit on the ‘Club Shay Shay’ show, that he understands the Jackson fans are hurt, and are saying things out of anger and emotion.
Hmm..Sanders is not backing down

However, the move can be attributed to Sanders’ ever-growing desire to build his image. This is probably why he chose to work with the Buffaloes, a significantly weaker team than the JSU Tigers. If Sanders’ history is anything to go by, there is no doubt that he will be able to raise this program to great heights.
