The New York Jets had a rather forgetful season last time around. As a result, this year, not many people had their eyes on the team. However, defying all expectations, the Jets got off to a rollicking start.

However, after earning winning momentum, the team has lost their track in their last few games. Their star QB Zach Wilson got bashed by a lot of fans and experts when he simply refused to take accountability for his own actions.
A few weeks ago against the Patriots, Zach delivered a horrible performance and came out in the post-game press conference all frustrated which didn’t help his cause.
Soon, it was announced that Wilson will be benched for the coming games and Mike White will get his chance to shine at the highest level. Needless to say, White didn’t disappoint.
He got his chance against the Bears and ended up scoring 3 TDs for 315 yards. It felt like Wilson will be out of the reckoning for quite a while now as Mike had well and truly taken over.
Zach Wilson Will Start Against The Lions
However, all hopes of the Jets fans came crashing down in the next two games. White struggled to get going against the Vikings and the Bills and as a result, the Jets suffered back to back losses.
To make matters worse, White also ended up sustaining a rib injury in the game against the Bills. While White was optimistic about getting fit and ready for the game against the Lions, he wasn’t cleared by the doctors and as a result, Zach Wilson is back again in the reckoning.
Interestingly, Wilson was on secret probation a little while ago but the team suddenly decided to put him at the 2nd QB spot, making it absolutely clear that he will start if White is unavailable.
Coach Saleh called this a co-incidence but we all know how truly “sudden” all this was. “This is going to be a great opportunity for Zach,” Saleh said regarding the star QB getting a second chance.
As far as White’s comeback chances are concerned, it is unlikely that the team will drop Wilson if gets going tonight. In that case, White might have to sit out for a little longer. However, if Wilson fails to impress yet again, White would most probably be back for the clash against the Jaguars as his injury doesn’t seem too serious.
