“You Gotta Stop the Unnecessary Stuff”: Shannon Sharpe Has Valuable Piece Of Advice For DK Metcalf After Yet Another Aggressive Cheapshot During Game

DK Metcalf has been penalized multiple times in the past and just when everyone thought he moved on with them, the Seahawks star WR came up with another cheap shot in his game against the Cincinnati Bengals. However, this time Shannon Sharpe had some valuable piece of advice ready for him.

In the latest episode of Nightcap with Chad Johnson, Shannon Sharpe reacted to DK Metcalf’s unnecessary roughness against the Bengals CB Cam Taylor-Britt. The Pro Bowler has on multiple occasions received penalties for unsportsmanlike conduct. In 2022 he received the penalty twice. He has also admitted to committing fouls in the field in his Bleacher Report interview with Taylor Rooks last year.

Shannon Sharpe Shares Valuable Advise For DK Metcalf

DK Metcalf was penalized against the Bengals for unnecessarily shoving CB Cam Taylor-Britt. The Seahawks receiver appeared to be aggressively pushing Taylor-Britt after the defensive back guarded the wideout on a play. Metcalf was flagged for it and Shannon Sharpe had some words of advice for the unnecessary roughness.

“You gotta stop the unnecessary stuff,” Shannon said. “You got yourself 15 yards, you gotta do stuff in a pile if you shoved a man with one hand in his face they’re gonna throw a flag every time. But you know Ocho, in the course of a game I can get your a*s back and make it look like a play.”

“Guess what everybody will say, ‘Hey you know what Imma say something to him too,'” Sharpe added. “Because that’s like the 2nd or 3rd time that that’s happened. So clearly that’s a problem. Bro you too good. Aye go score on him and say now see? Every time you keep running your mouth that is something I’m gonna do to you.” 

That said, it wasn’t the first time Metcalf was flagged for unnecessary behavior. Just a few weeks ago, Metcalf was fined $21,854 for an illegal hit against the Rams CB Ahkello Witherspoon. He has been under fire even in the past for his aggressive behavior on the field and even the fans weren’t too happy about it.

DK Metcalf‘s cheap shot was under fire after his clip of shoving the Bengals defender went viral on X. Many fans took to the social media platform to show discontent with the star wide receiver’s actions. One fan commented, “When he’s getting locked up he turns into such a cry baby.” While another fan said, “Does it because he gets away with it. League has to do something because he’s making the NFL look ridiculous.”

Metcalf has shown anger issues on the field a lot of times and has been penalized and even fined for it on many occasions. The league has been very strict in their celebration choices and has fined many players for their typical endzone routines. However, it will be seen how strict the NFL is when dealing with unnecessary aggressiveness on the field.
