MI vs CSK

Mumbai Indians are facing Chennai Super Kings to kick start the eleventh edition of the Indian Premier League.

The glitz and glamour was in full force, as some of the biggest Bollywood stars were at show at the Wankhede before the match. The likes of Prabhudeva, Varun Dhawan, Mika Singh, Tamanna, Jacqueline Fernandez and Hrithik Roshan performed in front of a jam packed Mumbai audience.

But that was just the precursor to main event, as Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni walked out into the middle for the toss. The 33,000 strong capacity crowd roared in approval, as IPL 2018 finally kicked off in Mumbai.

CSK won the toss and decided to bowl, as both captains were quite happy with the outcome!

Here is the official starting XI for Mumbai Indians:

Evin Lewis

Rohit Sharma

Ishan Kishan

Hardik Pandya

Krunal Pandya

Keiron Pollard

Suryakumar Yadav

Mayank Markande

Mitchell McClenaghan

Mustafizur Rahman

Jasprit Bumrah

Here is the official starting XI for Chennai Super Kings:

Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu, Suresh Raina, Kedar Jadhav, MS Dhoni(w/c), Dwayne Bravo, Ravindra Jadeja, Harbhajan Singh, Deepak Chahar, Imran Tahir, Mark Wood

The flat track at the Wankhede will be full of runs, as both teams will be looking to get off to a great start. The likes of Lewis, Rohit and Pandya will be expected to shine for MI with the bat. Keep an eye though on young Ishan Kishan, as the youngster could have a tournament to watch out for.

This might be an odd statement to make, but one could say that MI’s strength lies in it’s bowling as opposed to it’s batting. With Bumrah and Rahman in the side, MI posses two of the premier T20I bowlers in world cricket with the Pandya brothers and Chahhar to support the two fast bowlers.

The addition of McClenaghan may prove to be a very shrewd one as well!
