Paul Pogba leaves a classy message on twitter for racist trolls who heckled and abused him last week following his penalty miss against Wolverhampton.
Racism is an epidemic that has plagued football in the years before and will probably do so in the years to come. However, it is heartwarming to see fans and players gather together and look to end this ugly disease.
Last week, Manchester United drew a match against Wolverhampton after Paul Pogba failed to convert from the penalty spot. It was obviously agonising for Manchester United fans around the world. However, many trolls on social media took the opportunity to spew racist hate speech towards the French international.
The comments ranged from downright ugly to even death threats! Enough was enough and Manchester United took to twitter to condemn the act. Harry Maguire was not as calm. The world’s most expensive defender raged against the trolls asking there to be stricter supervision on the micro-blogging website. Soon other teammates followed suit and it was out in the open that Manchester was United.
Paul Pogba has now taken it upon himself to deal with hate mongers and he has done it with panache and grace.
Paul Pogba leaves a classy message on twitter for racist trolls
My ancestors and my parents suffered for my generation to be free today, to work, to take the bus, to play football. Racist insults are ignorance and can only make me stronger and motivate me to fight for the next generation. pic.twitter.com/J9IqyWQj4K

The beauty about this message is it that it isn’t just directed at social media trolls but even the bedroom racists; who may not be as vocal but hold the same belief underneath. Fans were eager to show their support to the Man U star and flocked in the comments with positive messages of encouragement.
Paul I apologise on behalf of the disrespectful racists, hope u never experience something like that again
