Premier League Transfer News: Man United set to outbeat Man City for Portuguese sensation

Premier League Transfer News: Manchester United are set to defeat Manchester City in the pursuit of Bruno Fernandes this summer.

Manchester United are vying to hire the services of the Portuguese sensation Bruno Fernandes from Sporting Lisbon. However, the Red Devils’ city rival Manchester City are also reportedly behind the midfielder.

In this transfer tussle, according to A Bola, Manchester United are leading the race to sign the player, as Ole Solskjaer is set to outbid the Citizens and could complete the signing next week.

Manchester United need immediate reinforcements for the next season as departures of Ander Herrera and Juan Mata will create a void for the Red Devils in the heart of the midfield.

Additionally, reported interests from Real Madrid for Paul Pogba makes Manchester United even more insecure of their midfield prowess.

Therefore, it has compelled Solskjaer to look for suitable replacements. Moreover, Manchester United manager has mentioned his desire to sign young players for the long term objectives. Thus, making Fernandes a viable target for the Red Devils.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola has also shown interest for the 24-year-old player as several Manchester City players, who are credited for the club’s success in the last decade are set to leave the club as they are into the last phase of the career.

Considering, Fernandes has been impressive with Sporting and showed potential with his brief spell with Portugal till now has probably aroused the interest of Manchester City.

However, it is further reported that the Citizens are set to lose the race for Bruno Fernandes, as the club is only willing to pay €55 million for the midfielder.

Whereas, Sporting are demanding €100 million for the services of the player. Whilst, Manchester United have outbid their neighbours but at the same time are not paying the demanded price by the Portuguese club. Instead, they are only willing to pay between €70-80 million for the player.

It seems that since Manchester United are close to the price asked by Sporting , the latter might have accepted the offer to make a bargain.
