Ravindra Jadeja on MS Dhoni’s leadership for CSK
Ravindra Jadeja has been playing under the leadership of MS Dhoni for sometime now. Ever since he made that switch from RR to CSK, Jadeja has been playing under Dhoni for both country and franchise.
A lot of Jadeja’s cricket has been influenced by Dhoni. Jadeja’s bowling has improved leaps and bounds, thanks to Dhoni’s comments and direction from behind the stumps.
With CSK making a return to the IPL this season, Jadeja was once again gifted with the opportunity to play under the leadership of MS Dhoni.
Dhoni has entrusted Jadeja with a lot of responsibility over the years and Jadeja is thankful for how Dhoni had led the entire CSK and Indian unit in the past 10 years.
In an interview with Times How, Jadeja revealed how MS Dhoni backs his players and keeps things very simple on the field.
He emphasised on how Dhoni doesn’t put the blame on any single player for the defeat, as the mantra is ‘we win as a team, we lose as a team’.
“Whether we win or lose, we never blame each other. The entire team is responsible for victory or defeat. That’s the mantra of CSK. Mahi bhai hamesha kehte hain, hum haarenge bhi saath mein aur jeetenge bhi saath mein (Dhoni always says we will lose and win together). He injects confidence in us. This motivates us a lot,” Jadeja said.
MS Dhoni has been in fine form this season with the bat and that is probably the main reason why CSK has been doing so well in the initial stages of the IPL.
With Dhoni firing at number 5 and Rayudu coming up with goods at the top, CSK seem like a formidable side, going into the business end of the tournament.
