RCB vs RR Preview: Pitch Report, Weather Report, Toss Prediction, Form Guide for IPL Match 49

RCB vs RR Preview: The Sportsrush presents before you full preview of the 49th match of IPL 2019 between Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Rajasthan Royals

The Royal battle is upon us as the Royal Challengers Bangalore take on a positive albeit depleted Rajasthan Royals at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. RCB should be playing fearless cricket and would look to try out a few players who have been on the bench and get an idea about their retention policy for next year. Rajasthan Royals still believe and they need to win both their remaining matches to have a chance of qualifying for the playoffs.

FORM GUIDE

RCB have managed to win 3 of their last 4 matches but are out of the race to the playoffs now. However, they would love to play spoilsport for other teams and secure as many points as possible to end a disappointing season. Their Indian bowlers need to contain the runs more effectively.

Rajasthan Royals have also won 3 of their last 4 matches but are coming off a win. Their squad has been depleted with the English professionals returning to UK for national duty. They need to win both their remaining matches and this would also be their last match with Steven Smith playing. Smith is also set to leave for Australia after 1st May.

TEAM CHANGES

RCB did try a few of their benched players in the last match like Gurkeerat Mann, Heinrich Klaasen and a few others. It can be presumed that these players will be given more opportunities to show their worth to the team management and make a strong case for their retention next year. Expect no changes for RCB.

Rajasthan Royals managed to win their last match without Buttler, Stokes and Archer which shows that they have a winning combination which they would not like to hamper at any cost considering they need to win everything. Royals will also go unchanged in this match.

PITCH AND WEATHER PREDICTION

The Bengaluru pitch has been a little inconsistent. While it has mostly been a batting paradise, it has been tricky to bat on a few occasions. The average score can be misleading due to the pitch’s unpredictable nature. However, if it remains the same, a score of 200+ should be defendable.

There will be string cloud cover over Bengaluru which might assist the pacers a bit. There is a slight chance of rainfall just before the match begins. However, we should have a full game if we go by the predictions. Temperatures will remain around 27°C and it should be a comfortable evening at the Garden City.

TOSS PREDICTION

Considering that the match will be played at the Chinnaswamy, both teams would want to chase the target and know exactly how much they need to get to win the match. The unpredictable pitch makes bowling first a more viable option.
