DC Predicted Playing 11 for today’s match vs RCB

DC Predicted Playing 11 for today’s match vs RCB: The Sportsrush presents before you DC’s Predicted Playing 11 for their sixth match of IPL 2019.

Delhi Capitals, after a promising start to this year’s IPL, have only flattered to deceive. With the likes of Ricky Pontong and Sourav Ganguly to guide the new-look team, one expected the Capitals to be a strong contender for the coveted title this time around.

However, with just one proper win and 1 win off a Super Over, the DC will have to pull up their socks before it is too late. They face a low-on-motivation RCB squad. With a pitch suitable to the DC batsmen, this might be the Capitals’ best opportunity to get back on the right track. Hopefully, they will be able to sort out their lower middle order concerns.

Top-order

At least one player in their top order has come to the party in every match and this really augurs well for the team. The opening combination of Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw would look to give a solid start to their team. The Chinnaswamy would suit the batting style of young Prithvi Shaw who can make a big impact here.

Skipper Shreyas Iyer is expected to play the role of an anchor. He has looked good and has been getting starts in many matches. He would love to get a big one here.

Middle-order

If DC are to pose a serious threat, their middle order desperately needs to fire. The swashbuckling Rishabh Pant might go berserk at the Chinnaswamy considering the short boundaries and the kind of form he is in, the RCB bowlers could take a good beating. Colin Ingram would also enjoy batting on this surface and provide some stability to the middle order.

Rahul Tewatia was tried at No. 5 in the previous encounter but without much success. In spite of that, he might maintain his spot in the team as he had significantly contributed with the ball. Axar Patel finished the DC innings well in the previous match and would walk into the team provided he is fit. Chris Morris can also hit the big ones and may prove to be an adept finisher alongside Axar Patel.

Bowlers

The DC bowling attack is enviable. If the Chinnaswamy track behaves like it did in the RCB vs KKR match, the spinners will play a big role in the outcome of the match. The pitch has some help for the spinners and the DC tweakers would be licking their lips at the prospect.

Sandeep Lamichhane has been brilliant and would try and bag a few more wickets here. Rahul Tewatia and Axar Patel would be the other spinners in the squad who would look to be economical and pick up a few scalps along the way.

Tewatia’s economy rate in the previous match was 3.3 runs per over while Axar bowled at a rate of 4.5 runs per over only. They picked up a wicket each too. In a T20 match, this is gold dust. The pace bowling department may not play a very significant role but DC surely possess some spectacular pacers in the form of Kagiso Rabada and Chris Morris.

While Rabada has shown his prowess all too well, Morris would be impatient to make a bigger contribution. Ishant Sharma, who bowled an over for five runs and picked a wicket in the last match, would also walk into the team.
