Real Madrid Set To Offload Eden Hazard After Champions League Debacle
Real Madrid Set To Offload Eden Hazard: The La Liga side has run out of patience with Hazard with the Belgium captain headed for the exit door
After years of underperforming and underwhelming displays, Eden Hazard was finally accorded his big chance to repose the faith earmarked in him by Real Madrid.
Gaining full fitness ahead of his side’s all important Champions League semi-final with Chelsea, Hazard ended up getting the nod for the contest. Manager Zinedine Zidane named Hazard in Real Madrid’s playing 11 to ensure Hazard fulfilled his much awaited return to Stamford Bridge.
Deployed in his club’s attack owing to his expansive knowledge of Chelsea, Hazard was envisioned to showcase his mettle on the night. This was Hazard’s moment to shine and with it win his way back into the hearts of Real Madrid’s supporters.
However, unfortunately for Hazard, his dreary run in Real Madrid colors continued unabated. Hazard was laggard on Wednesday, failing to trouble Chelsea’s backline on the night.
His listless performance joined a lengthy pile of languid displays for Real Madrid ever since completing the move to the Spanish side from Chelsea. And his part in the club’s 2-0 defeat against Chelsea looks to be the final straw with the thinktank at Real Madrid.
Real Madrid Set To Sell Eden Hazard
In the aftermath of the club exiting the Champions League, massive upheaval is envisaged at the club next season. In a move to fund new transfers, Real Madrid are set to overhaul their squad with Eden Hazard set to be one of the players set to lose his place at the club.
As per reports emanating from Spain, Real Madrid are eager to sell Hazard, Isco, Luka Jokic and Brahim Diaz. The club is meanwhile interested in recalling Martin Odegaard from his Arsenal loan with the club impressed by Odegaard’s showings in the Premier League.
Manager Zinedine Zidane’s future is yet to be up in the air as well. The Frenchman’s destiny is slated to be determined by Real Madrid’s La Liga title challenge, one which depends on Atletico Madrid’s ability to drop points at the moment.
