Real Madrid transfer news: Los Blancos look to bring in Chelsea goalkeeper if Keylor Navas leaves this summer before the transfer window closes.
Keylor Navas has handed in his transfer request at the Saintiago Bernabeu. Even though he was informed by Zinedine Zidane months earlier that he would be second choice to Thibaut Courtouis, the Costa Rican has decided, days before the transfer window closes, that he doesn’t want to be a back up option anymore.

The 32-year old is currently on PSG’s radar and is most likely to join the Parisian side. However, this leaves Real Madrid in an uncomfortable position. With both Andry Lunin and Luca Zidane out on loan, if and when Keylor Navas shifts out, Los Blancos will be without a reserve shot-stopper in their squad.
With a little under two weeks on their watch, Real Madrid still have some time to fill that position. According to Spanish outlet Marca, they are currently looking at Chelsea’s Willy Caballero as an option. Zidane believes that the 37-year old is a safe pair of hands. Morever, unlike Navas, he will not mind warming the bench.
It also helps that Caballero has a lot of experience in Spain; having played for 9 seasons in the La Liga with Elche and Malaga before. He serves as Chelsea’s current no. 2 behind regular keeper Kepa Arizabalaga. However, it remains to be seen if Frank Lampard will allow the Argentine to leave London. Especially considering that Chelsea are currently in the middle of a transfer embargo.
If Real Madrid fail to land Caballero, they may turn their attentions to Pepe Reina, Diego Benaglio and Maarten Stekelenburg.
