Chennaiites are delighted to welcome back one of the most successful IPL teams back into the setup. Many of them voiced their disappointments when Chennai Super Kings were banned, but now are ecstatic as ever!
The team might not be as successful and as strong as it was before owing to the IPL Auctions that are about to take place later this year where there is a high possibility that many former CSK players might be bought by other teams.
But, the fans want their “THALA” MS Dhoni back into the team and such is the love for one of the most successful captains of all time here in Chennai.
Previously being with the CSK for 8 years as their captain, MS Dhoni has a deep relationship with this city. He even calls it his “Second home”.
The Team Management has said that it will do whatever it can to re-unite the core of CSK which is very difficult.
According to George John, one of the directors of Chennai Super Kings Cricket Limited, which runs the team, “The ban is officially over. It is good that we are back. As far as possible we will try to retain the players and support staff we had.”
Irrespective of whether CSK get MS Dhoni or not, one thing that is for sure is that Chennaiites will be in for a treat next summer with IPL Cricket returning to the city after a long time.
