Ricky Bhui run-out vs Gujarat: Watch Siddarth Desai's shrewdness dismisses Andhra batsman

Ricky Bhui run-out vs Gujarat: The Gujarati bowler’s awareness saw him producing a wicket out of nowhere in Nadiad.

During the final round match of the ongoing 86th season of the Ranji Trophy between Gujarat and Andhra in Nadiad, Gujarat spinner Siddarth Desai’s shrewdness saw him producing the wicket of Andhra batsman Ricky Bhui.

It all happened on the last delivery of the 34th over when Bhui danced down the track to the left-arm spinner. Still away from the length of the ball, Bhui decided to defend the ball back to the bowler.

Having timed the ball well, Bhui hitting the ball swiftly to Desai saw the latter pick the ball and throw it back to the stumps in a bid to run-out the batsman.

Having lost his balance slightly in addition to running down the track found Bhui short of his crease when Desai’s throw hit the stumps. Coming in to bat at No. 4 in the 29th over, the 23-year old right-hand batsman ended up scoring 2 (23).

After Andhra captain Srikar Bharat won the toss and chose to bat, Gujarati bowlers raised questions on his decision after they restricted the visitors to 67/5 in the 36th over.

At the time of writing this article, Karan Shinde and Bodapati Sumanth have stitched a 42-run partnership for the sixth wicket to initiate a rescue act. Having said that, Andhra would be needing much more from their middle-order batsmen to post a competitive first-innings total.
