Rohit Sharma fooled Labuschagne and Smith with fake fielding, umpire failed to notice during the 2nd ODI between India and Australia.

India are back in contention after beating Australia by 36 runs at Rajkot to keep the 3-match ODI series alive. Shikhar Dhawan, Virat Kohli and KL Rahul helped India post a mammoth 340 in their allotted 50 overs.

Australia looked good to chase the target down with Steve Smith taking the challenge head on. However, a much improved Indian bowling saw Australia lose their wickets in a hope. By the time Smith departed, the game was already in India’s favour.
Earlier in the day, Rohit Sharma wowed the audience with a tennis ball shot off Kane Richardson’s delivery. The opener was not done though and he stole the show once more during Australia’s chase showing his presence of mind and guile in the game.

During Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne’s partnership, the latter hit one of Kuldeep Yadav’s deliveries behind the stumps. Despite the ball having gone past him, Rohit Sharma pretended to gather the ball and faked a throw.
Labuschagne wasn’t impressed with the Mumbai batsman’s antic and even pointed it out to the umpire but the man at Square leg failed to notice the fake fielding.

With the series all squared, the final match will prove to be an exciting affair. India will be pleased with their performance, having gone down like a pack of cards in the first ODI. Australia on the other hand, will keep their chin up, considering how they’ve challenged the hosts so far. However, they will hope not to allow the Indian batsmen to run amuck like they allowed to at Rajkot.
