Cristiano Ronaldo earlier hinted at leaving Real Madrid.

The Portuguese star forward has time and again proved himself as one of the all time-greats in football’s history. He has already scored the highest numbers of goals for Real Madrid, and recently broke the record for most international goals by a European footballer.

However, Spanish outlet ‘OK Diario’, quoted by Goal, claims that the release clause for Cristiano Ronaldo is slashed form €1 billion to €120m.

Ronaldo gave hints of leaving Real Madrid right after he won his fourth Champions League title with the club. In an interview with beIN sports after the match, Ronaldo said that it was a pleasure to be a part of the club for such a long time.

However, Ronaldo apologised for his comments later the same night.

OK Diario reports that even when the release clause is slashed, it will not be applicable for Spanish teams. There is reportedly a provision for Paris Saint Germain as well, which rules out a shock transfer to the French club.

Many clubs, Manchester United the front-runners among them, are being speculated to be interested in the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Ronaldo is currently leading Portugal as the team chases World Cup glory in Russia this summer. Portugal finished second in their group and are through to the next round of the tournament, where they will be facing Uruguay.

The Spanish outlet also reports that Ronaldo has offers from Arsenal, Chelsea, AC Milan and Manchester City as of now.
