Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing 11 today

Royal Challengers Bangalore Playing 11 today: The Sportsrush presents before you RCB’s Predicted Playing 11 for their seventh match of IPL 2019.

RCB are on 0 points and have 8 matches left. If they win all 8 of them, they get to 16 points and have a decent chance of making the playoffs. It is easier said than done obviously. Winning 8 matches back to back in a competitive tournament like the IPL is no joke.

However, RCB have to believe. They have to go out there and try to enjoy. In any case, they are losing. They might as well have some fun and who knows what may happen.

The IPL has been notorious of having such pauper to king stories and RCB might be the next one. This is the mentality that Kohli’s men will have to bring onto the field and play some positive cricket starting with the match against KXIP at Mohali.

Top-order

Parthiv Patel has been one of the few bright spots in the RCB squad with 172 runs in 6 matches. He has given them a good start in most of the matches and will easily make the team. Virat Kohli will continue to open the batting in a bid to try and play as many balls as possible. With 203 runs in 6 matches, the captain has been in decent touch but in
comparison to the Kohli of other IPLs, he has had a season well below par.

AB de Villiers has also had a quiet season with only one great innings against the KKR. He has managed to get some starts but has not looked like the AB de Villiers of the past. He will play at No. 3 and hope to bring back his old magic on the flattish Mohali pitch.

Middle-order

The middle order conundrum has haunted RCB for many years now. This year, they have international stars like Marcus Stoinis and Moeen Ali occupying the middle order slots and these 2 have looked above average at best. One performance here and there is not sufficient in a tournament like the IPL. Their bowling also has not impressed a lot but their dual abilities would keep them in the squad for now.

Akshdeep Nath has just got one opportunity with the bat and he has performed fairly well. He would maintain his spot in the team. Pawan Negi is predominantly in the team for his bowling but would look to contribute with the bat lower down the order and help finish the innings on a high.

Bowlers

Bowlers have disappointed RCB with little or no application on their behalf. They need to buck up and give it their best shot now. Navdeep Saini has impressed one and all with his express pace of over 150kph but would want to get better with his line and length.

Tim Southee will continue to lead the pace attack till Nathan Coulter-Nile’s replacement, Dale Steyn, does not arrive in India. Yuzuvendra Chahal has been impressive with the ball and would look to make a big impact on Saturday. Pawan Negi has also bowled well and would want to chip in with a few wickets.

Moeen Ali might play a crucial role with his off-spinners moving away from the like of Chris Gayle, David Miller and Sarfraz Khan. Marcus Stoinis would love to get among the wickets as well.

Owing to poor performances on the field and with the ball, Mohammad Siraj might have to make way for left-arm pacer Kulwant Khejroliya who might trouble the likes of KL Rahul.
