The friendship between the two Indian legends is well documented. It is no secret that Viru modelled his game around The Master Blaster. The mutual respect and admiration both have towards each other is quite evident. Both were an integral part of India’s World Cup winning squad and shared many explosive partnerships together.

However, Twitter went berserk today with Sachin’s unique tweet on occasion of Viru’s 39th birthday. The Master Blaster always joked about Virender Sehwag heeding nobody’s advice and doing as he pleased in the middle. This was evident in the sheer belligerence he displayed to bowlers even during pressure situations in a match.

Tendulkar wished his former batting partner with a dose of witty humor. “Happy birthday, viru! Have a great start to the new year. You’ve always done ‘ulta’ of what i have told you on field. So here’s one from me?” The amazing thing was that all the words were inverted focusing on the ‘ulta’ part of Viru’s actions on the pitch.

However, Viru came back with a equally funny retort. Acknowledging Sachin’s humorous tweet, he thanked ‘God ji’ for the wishes in India. He further went on to add that he had no idea how God wrote to his disciples until after seeing Sachin’s tweet. He was also flooded with numerous wishes on this special day from colleagues and fans.
