Sadio Mane goal vs Chelsea: Liverpool Star scores an important equaliser in the UEFA Super Cup minutes after half-time as the Reds control proceedings.
This is Istanbul, this is Liverpool. One thing you never do here is write Liverpool off. Trailing 1-0 at half-time, one could assume what was going on in Jurgen Klopp’s mind. They fared poorly in their pre-season. They had a much better showing against Manchester City but came out on the wrong side of the penalty shoot-out.

They managed to demolish Norwich City but the second half in that match proved that even Liverpool’s mighty defense could be put under pressure and that is exactly what happened tonight in the UEFA Super Cup.
Chelsea were relentless in their attack and finally found the back of the net through Olivier Giroud. At half-time, Chelsea walked back with their heads held high while Liverpool had their shoulders dropped. Jurgen Klopp immediately made a change and bought in Roberto Firmino.
The Brazilian had an almost immediate impact as Liverpool equalised minutes after the break. Firmino received a pass in the penalty area. Kepa Arrizabalaga charged towards the striker. However, instead of attempting a goal himself, Firmino sneaked a pass to Sadio Mane who tapped in the goal into the empty net.

At the moment of writing, the game is well placed at 1-1 and both sides have looked threatening in front of the goal. With the pace that both teams are employing, it is very likely that this match will see more goals. At the end, it looks like the team that defends better will walk away with the game.
